Family Voices
Usually the families (or patients!) add vital information that helps us develop the best treatment plan FOR THEM #PHMChat
"Feel free to jump in at any time with any questions, comments, or if we leave anything out that is important" #PHMChat 2/2
A4: When I introduce FCRs to a family, my spiel is "this is when we bring the entire team taking care of you and your child here to your bedside and talk about what brought you here, what's going on, and WITH YOUR HELP come up with the best plan of care for the day" #PHMChat 1/2
A3: Examining institutional policies re: caregivers leaving the bedside can't be ignored. I've worked in an ED where children were boarded because the hospital was full and the ED policy is caregivers can't leave the hospital ever #PHMChat
A2: Outside of offering services like child life (for siblings and patients), pastoral services, social work, I struggle as someone who recently moved to this area to even know what resources I have to offer #PHMChat
A1: communication can be challenging, especially on a teaching team where the student, intern, and senior resident present/fill in blanks/answer questions first. I always try to wrap up and/or teach back even if pt not discharging home that day to gauge understanding #PHMChat

#Kidvengers let’s celebrate #HCWvsHunger 🍎🏆 by discussing more champions for kids:
