Why do tech writers/commentators still refer to Windows computers as PCs? Do they think it sounds more "techy"?
It goes back to the IBM PC (1981) and "IBM compatible" clones. When the reference to IBM became increasingly obsolete there was this silly pivot to PC rather than Microsoft/Windows.
There was never an actual dichotomy between PC and Mac. Apple makes personal computers and there have always been other non-Windows PCs.
So, I am asking, could you just stop it? Pretty please.
