“The woman on the bike — Anne Sobol, a member of the safety team for #BikePGH, which organizes #OpenStreetsPGH — suffered bruises on her legs but said she wasn't in pain. No major injuries were reported at the scene.
“Someone tried to open the barricade at the end to let her off the course, but instead she turned around and accelerated back towards everybody again," Sobol told WESA. "So I got in front of the car and she hit me, and I’m going to be pressing charges."

Today was the first #OpenStreetsPGH organized by #BikePGH. Usually the last Sundays summer months, this event is a fantastic way to experience a stretch of streets car-free. Showing us a world where walkers, strollers, wheelchairs, skaters, and bicyclists can travel safely.

Unfortunately, a seemingly road raged driver accelerated past barricades and hit a member of the safety team who was able to successfully stop the driver from causing more harm. #BikeTooter #bike

Woman in custody after car hits bicyclist on closed OpenStreetsPGH course in North Point Breeze

Police took a woman into custody after witnesses said a car drove through a barricade and onto streets that had been closed for OpenStreetsPGH, striking at least one person on a bicycle.

Yesterday was a great maker space day:

I did the weekly and monthly maintenance for the vertical bandsaw in the metal shop 💪

I made a plywood box on the laser cutter, to hold the sheets of butcher paper I ordered that inexplicably came in a plastic bag instead of a box.

I figured out how to use my new pneumatic staple gun, then refit the prototype stool seat so the cover’s on straight now.

I wore my voice out giving tours after the OpenStreets event down the road.
