Updated my Baltimore public art inventory map + data for the first time in a while https://publicartbaltimore.github.io/inventory

Coverage for the last two years is pretty spotty so let me know if you have any suggested additions!

Baltimore Public Art Inventory

Continuing occasional work on my {legistarapi} #RStats package and I just added an example to the README showing how to list ordinances for the Baltimore City Council https://elipousson.github.io/legistarapi/index.html

I've also added pagination to return the full results for any query and enabled the filter and other OData parameters. The interface is still unstable but it is starting to turn into something useful!

It isn't the most elegant thing in the world but I finished migrating (almost) all my code for developing the city's CIP Report into a reproducible {targets} pipeline.

Still plenty to do but I feel like I'm nearing the end of a 5-month marathon.

I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about identifiers lately. The ROW permit number is a new one to add to my list and I don’t think they’re publicly available (yet).

I spent the last 2.5 months working on this report for the Baltimore City Capital Improvement Program https://planning.baltimorecity.gov/sites/default/files/2024-01-12_FY2530_CIP-Request-Report.pdf

Excepting the cover page, the entire document is created by a #QuartoPub + #RStats pipeline that turns two Excel files with messy project and financial request data into the clearest and best-looking 500+ page report I could create. Fully reproducible repository should be coming next week.

I made some major changes to the Baltimore City entity reference I shared on here a couple months back.

The Airtable base now lists "assignments" w/ names, agencies, and start/end date for leadership roles https://airtable.com/app1TxhwkepwEygN7/shrsG7ZZ947kG1eDA/tblFmL54X4YOCw1QV/viw5qmxXfPRgVR6QM?blocks=hide

It has a bunch of missing names + dates but it is a good start on a reference that should exist but doesn't. #Baltimore #bmorehistoric #CivicData #OpenBaltimore

These aren't anything official and I'm not sure when or if I'll keep working on them but I'm still open to suggestions or feedback if you all have any.

If it is public open data, I'd rather just get it out there than wait for it to be perfect! #WorkInProgress #OpenBaltimore #OpenData

The next is a collection of all of the community plans, urban renewal plans, and park plans posted to the Department of Planning website with new metadata on consultants, year adopted, etc. https://airtable.com/shrIb0577rFcNI6vj #OpenBaltimore #BaltimorePlanning #Baltimore #OpenData
Baltimore City and Regional Plans - Airtable

This base is an index for community plans, park plans, transportation plans, and related reports or studies for Baltimore City, adjacent counties, and the Baltimore metro area. The goal is to provide a convenient and accessible reference to information plans include: what the scope and related locations for the plan, when the plan was published or adopted, who prepared the plan, and any programs connected to the plan. Tables include: - **plans**: including plans, studies, reports, etc. - **organizations**: including agencies, community organizations, consultants, and funders - **locations**: neighborhoods, parks, planning areas, and other locations included within the scope of a related plan - **entities**: a linked table with agencies, commissions, and other public and quasi-public entities in Baltimore City and Maryland

Airtable

I've started working in Airtable on a couple open data "hobby" projects last month that I think may be developing into something interesting or useful.

The first is a list of city departments, commissions, and quasi-public entities https://airtable.com/shrsG7ZZ947kG1eDA #Baltimore #OpenBaltimore #OpenData

I’ll miss the small public archive for each one if this platform switch sticks. But the allowance of longer posts is also an exciting opportunity.
