Thanks to Sufyan bin Uzayr for enlarging and updating the #OpenAccessDirectory (#OAD) list of #advocacy organizations for #OpenAccess.

Like all OAD lists, this one is #crowdsourced. Here's how to help make any of the OAD lists more comprehensive and up to date.

Today the editorial board of _Mathematical Logic Quarterly_ (pub'd by #Wiley) resigned and launched a new #DiamondOA journal on the same topics.

I track these journal "declarations of independence" in the #OpenAccessDirectory (#OAD), and just added an entry for this one, at the bottom in chronological order.

I also track them โ€” and discussions of them โ€” in the Open Access Tracking Project (#OATP, @oatp).

Reaktion auf Differenzen mit Wiley: Grรผndung eines neuen Open Access Journals

I just learned (late!) about the mass editorial resignations at the Journal of International Students (Nov 2023) to protest the unilateral decision by the founding editor to transfer the journal to an unnamed publisher and introduce #APCs. Six months later the editors who resigned launched a new #DiamondOA journal in the same niche.

I just added an entry about it to the #OpenAccessDirectory list of journal declarations of independence.

Journal declarations of independence - Open Access Directory

@scinoptica
I moved my #OpenAccess timeline to the #OpenAccessDirectory (a wiki) in 2009, where it remains open for public contributions.
https://oad.simmons.edu/oadwiki/Timeline

The idea was to crowdsource the job of keeping it up to date. Unfortunately the crowd has been slow to help out. The OAD version is still the most comprehensive up to 2009. But it's very meager after that. I'd be happy to talk with anyone hoping to build on it or recruit the crowd.

The OAD version also links to other OA timelines.

Essex adopts Author Rights Retention Policy | Blog | University of Essex

The Author Rights Retention policy provides authors with the ability to control the dissemination of their research outputs, ensuring compliance with funder mandates and the Research Excellence Framework (REF).

@nsunami
The Open Access Tracking Project (#oatp, @oatp) tracks these with the tag "oa.policies.journals.data". So far we've found 200 (examples and discussions), but there must be more.

4+ years ago the #OpenAccessDirectory started a list of them. But it's still under development and needs volunteers to beef it up, for example, from the OATP.
