I was feeling out of control; like everything is sliding out of my range of ability.

I went downstairs to escape for a bit.. and I realized the whole house humidifier needed a filter change. I ordered all the parts a month ago and they've just been sitting around waiting for the furnace people to come in December. So I picked up the owner's manual, followed the instructions and voilá! Filter changed.

It was a little thing, but I did it.

*I* did it.

It is a thing I have done. And I am feeling just that much less anxious and more like I can do things. One at a time. One task, one thing, at a time.
