Words are often not my friends, but still pretty okay with this 11 years later - for once I mostly managed to convey a small piece of what I wanted to express:
"Home.....in some respects it tends to mean something different to just about everyone. But often not as different as people think. A place you belong. Somewhere that recharges you. Where your soul relaxes, feels content.
Homes can be buildings (where you lay your head at the end of your day), but not always (within a loved one's arms). If you're lucky you have more than one. Sometimes extra home(s) falls outside your 'regular' world too, are places you only get to on occasion. Doesn't make them any less Home though. Haven't managed to get to Saginaw or West Branch at all this year, and my heart aches a bit.
Luckily my other is almost here.....two more days until OVFF. Until I'm Home"
Nothing's perfect, people and places evolve over time. But for me OVFF is still a place of Home, Family, Community.....and one I sorely need right now. Thankfully it is once again almost here - two more days (officially)
