JudithIt has been a while since I last tooted an Ordnance Survey #benchmark. I still look out for them but haven't been as actively bagging them as before.
I often cycle past the old Well Lane police station and have always thought it was very likely to have a benchmark. I'm usually on the [Edit] Albany Road side. Today I walked down Well Lane and could easily see the cut mark from the pavement.
I'm not sure what the building is used for now. Two women came out and went to Lidl, which is where I was going. They didn't look like they were engaged on constabulary duties.
I like buildings like this. They have character and dignity.
