After a couple weeks of being shut in with COVID, I was desperate to get out for some fresh air and exercise. I decided to wonder up Nose Hill to visit Turtle Rock. As a kid, I used to spend hours sitting on this rock contemplating life and the world around me. It has always been a place for me to ground and centre myself so I can dive back into life. And the fall colours were absolutely amazing!

Nice bike ride with the Fox today through #Nosehill park

An update on my “walk a marathon during my week off” project: Things conspired against me Monday and Tuesday, but I still tallied 600 m and 5.1 km respectively, with yesterday’s walk involving an umbrella and a mid-walk stop at a grocery store. Today was my first day up #NoseHill, adding 6.9 km to the tally and an elevation climb of 126 m using a fairly gradual route. The panoramic view of the Rocky Mountains was so worth it!
It was a great day for a walk on #NoseHill in #yyc. The crocuses are starting to emerge.
Took my first #NoseHill walk of the year. If you stay on the main pathways and avoid the valleys, conditions are generally dry. There is still snow and ice in the park on North-facing slopes. #yyc #yycParks [Edit: alt tags added]
