Well it's been very hot'n'heavy welding up this commission! But such a lovely job for the great bunch of volunteers at Pleasley Pit in #NorthNotts.This sign, to celebrate the anniversary is made made up of nuts, bolts, drills & spanners - all from the old pit stores and the frame is fabricated from one of the original tunnel supports! If you have no knowledge of how #coalmining shaped the whole of #NEDerbyshire & #NorthNottinghamshire then this is the place to start your investigations!

It seems to me that the few times that humans & nature work in perfect harmony is when there is art or craft involved. In this case a gorgeous bit of #sandstone #drystonewalling to create a safe enclosure for a handsome #oak in a field just outside of Letwell on the #NorthNotts #SouthYorkshire border. Hats off to whoever made this!

This week we take a look at the #Bugle which as you can see is basically a #PostHorn wrapped up for ease of carrying & playing on the battlefield!
The Bugle however has about 10 inches more tubing to allow for a greater range of harmonics.
