Decided to operate ARRL Field Day Class 1B - Battery again this year, using ICOM IC-705 (set to 5W) with Chameleon delta loop antenna ground mounted in rear yard, with LDG IT-100 tuner (with DIY adapter cable from 4-pin to IC-705 3.5mm plug), all powered by Anker Solix C300X DC battery bank. Today’s task: discharge Anker battery to 5%, then recharge to 100% using a solar panel array in driveway. Station uses <25W of DC power for all items. #FieldDayPrep #NaturalPower #SunnyDay #FreePower

Field Day 2025 Battery Operations: Is it practical to run a QRP station from a Ecoflow Delta 2, 1024 Watt-Hour battery for the weekend (operating 16 hours max)? Conservative estimate of power draw: IC-705 (20W), Tuner (5W), iPad (10W) = 35W total (avg). 1024 WH / 35W = ~29 Hours. Expecting the actual average draw to be less than 35W and figuring 16 hours of operation, the answer is YES, the Delta2 should easily power the station for this year’s Field Day 2025. #HamRadio #FieldDay #NaturalPower
