The North American Drought Monitor shows drought in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico at the end of August. Just over 44% of Canada was in drought, 29.2% of the U.S., and nearly 14% of Mexico were also parched.

Drought eased in Canada over the past month and worsened in the US and Mexico. At the end of October, 29.33% of #Canada was in #drought (D1-D4), as was 45.23% of the US, and 31.68% of #Mexico.

Drought worsened in Mexico and parts of the southern US during April, but eased in eastern Canada and parts of the northern US and Southwest. At the end of April, 38.82% of #Canada was in #drought (D1-D4), 14.32% of the US, and 68.06% of #Mexico was in drought.

The North American Drought Monitor shows abnormal dryness or #drought for 73.31% of #Canada, 39.49% of the U.S., and 70.82% of #Mexico. The change map indicates areas of drought easing in greens and intensifying in yellow and orange.

Drought in #Canada at the end of September increased over the past month to cover 42.39%, an increase of 7.65 points. #Drought in the U.S. expanded to cover 33.60%, an increase of 4.92 points. #Mexico also saw drought increase to encompass 75.19%, a jump of 14.02%.
