Das neue NMB-Werk L.I.F.T. ist gelandet und wir haben die Platte für euch unter die Lupe genommen. Nach Mike Portnoys Rückkehr zu Dream Theater hatten viele Sorge um die Bandchemie, doch die Jungs strafen alle Zweifler Lügen.

Von den majestätischen Hörnern im Opener Beginning bis zum elfminütigen Epos Love All Along zelebriert das Quintett eine spirituelle Heldenreise, die vor Spielfreude nur so strotzt. Eric Gillette liefert dazu Soli ab, die zum Niederknien sind. Wer auf hochwertigen, hymnischen Progressive Rock steht, kommt an diesem Brett nicht vorbei.

The new Neal Morse Band album L.I.F.T arrived on Friday and I've been listening to it obsessively since then. No surprise that it's outstanding: to me, a big step up from Innocence and Danger back up to the level of Similitude and the Great Adventure. There's a unity and coherence to it that I love. And, needless to say, it's endlessly inventive and virtuosic.
