Four VCs in Sendenyu, Nagaland oppose Forest (Conservation) Amendment Act, 2023, passed in Parliament. Appeal to all Naga tribes to pressure State govt. to reject Act. Act challenges traditional customary and indigenous ownership-rights. VCs initiated The Sendenyu Village Wildlife Conservation Act of 2001. Act undermines sacrifices of community, discriminates against custodians of forestland.
