Let’s say I have a Mycroft Mark I that I pulled out of a closet in 2026. What can I do with it? 🤔
(I also have a Home Assistant server and a couple of Home Assistant Voice Preview Editions…)
yes I've used #OpenVoiceOS on my Mycroft 2 although I'm now using #NeonAI which
makes use of #Ovos .. I'd say it's fine and interesting, if a bit experimental.

My test bed Mycroft / OpenVoiceOS installation is coming alongnicely. It's frustrating that MycroftAI's excellent online portal for managing skills and settings disappeared with the demise of the company. But I'm encouraged by the onscreen developments OVOS has inherited from Mycroft II.
Does anyone have a recent, stable image for PiCroft (the raspberry pi image of Mycroft assistant) the links are all dead on the Mycroft site.
For now the original SW seems to be a dead end.
The control center at the mycroft.ai account page doesn't let me install skills and even the settings of skills don't work (anymore).
My Mark 2 with the original #mycroftai software is at least usable but very limited in it's possibilities.
I was trying #mycroftai Mark 2 for the last couple of days.
The experience bringing the original software (Dinkum) online is straightforward and works like a charm.
You start the device, it asks you to join the wireless station named "Mycroft" where you can add your preferred WiFi credentials. You need to create an account at mycroft.ai first to be able to pari the device.
Afterwards you are able to control your Mark 2 using a web interface at mycroft.ai.
Have you had a look at #mycroftai ? I haven't used it personally, but always thought it was worth looking into.
