I really should remember to drink my green teas fresher. This is a very nice Meng Ding Ganlu from the MyTeaPal Club, and the freshness adds to the enjoyment of the scent and flavor.

Still wandering through my teaware looking for the best way to brew Dancong Oolong consistently. This is a nice Honey Orchid Dancong from MyTeaPal Club. Maybe brewing Dancong consistently isn't in my skill set?

Trying last MyTeaPal Club tea from India before returning to my usual Chinese tea hijinks. Doke Tea Black Fusion (2022, autumn) is a nice, clean, daily drinker black. Lower astringency than I expected from previous Indian black tea experience and a more savory than fruity character, sort of Dian Hong, junior. Not much in terms of aromatics, but some light lingering bitterness.

Continuing the tea from India adventure with Doke Rolling Thunder (handmade, organic) autumn flush, 2022, via MyTeaPal Club. They call this an Oolong, which, hm, more like half way between Darjeeling and a lightly oxidized red. Low astringency makes it pretty easy to brew. Some charcoal character in the empty cup. The mix of oxidation levels on the leaves lends multifaceted complexity to the flavor, during the session the tea sometimes tastes green, sometimes red. Overall an enjoyable brew.

Fall 2022 Green Diamond (organic, handmade) from Doke Tea. Another tea from India via the My Tea Pal Club. This one is uncontroversially a green tea. Well made with no off or harsh flavors, it would be a good everyday green tea. Similar to, but not as meaty as Yunnan green teas.

Finishing off the aged raw puerh MyTeaPal club sampler with the last of the 2013 Mangfei Dashu, Yongde, Lincang, raw puerh. Stored loose in Chengdu, Sichuan, for around 10 years. I think, ultimately, this might have been my favorite of the four.

A bit disappointed that the 2009 MyTeaPal Club Bulang Arbor, which has been stored in Chengdu since 2015, doesn't taste/smell like Chengdu chile oil. (It's actually a very good middle aged raw puerh.)

Interesting to see the response to the somewhat strong wet storage character of the 2011 Cao Gen raw puerh, (Bulang tea, Guangdong storage,) among the MyTeaPal club subscribers. I liked it and it reminded me I should revisit some of the teas in my collection with wet storage character. Most had another response.

2010-15 Yiwu Dashu raw puerh blend from MyTeaPal Club. Good scent and body, mild flavor. A bit of astringency, I assume from the younger leaves in the blend. Enjoyable, but a touch green. (Small Moon White Ruyau Gaiwan from Mud and Leaves.)
