Another Oolong sample from Mud and Leaves, this one a Taiwanese 2019 "Alishan Jin Xuan Golden Lily". A "Milk Oolong", it is very light, subtle oolong with no roast and medium (25%) Oxidation. Tasty, but I probably should have drunk it sooner...

HeHuanShan High Mountain Oolong (2019) from Mud and Leaves light and cheery Taiwanese oolong; light oxidation, no roast. Almost a green tea. I should probably have drunk it sooner, but the sample was vacuum sealed, so probably not much change in my cool basement storage.
Alishan High Mountain Jade Oolong (spring, 2021) from Mud and Leaves is a super clean light oxidation and roast Taiwanese oolong. Pretty close to a green tea.
Experimenting with a potential new simple travel tea set, strainer and pyrex beaker. Happily, the 250ml beaker fits snugly inside my travel electric kettle. (RiYueTan Sun Moon Lake Taiwanese black tea via Mud and Leaves.)
A big mug of uncomplicated Yunnan black tea. A blend of the Mud and Leaves Azure Spring and Yunnan Sourcing Drunk on Red black tea cakes.

Starting the new year by spilling a big pile of dry black tea on the kitchen table while trying to weigh it. Interesting to taste the Hong Yu Ruby 18 from Mud and Leaves with San Francisco water, after drinking it made with Phoenix, AZ, water. Definitely a clearer expression of the tea.
The advantage to bringing all your tea fixings on a trip is you are never surprised by what's available in the hotel or AirBNB. The only question is one of space, tea or clarinet?
