Also that's 190 miles away from me, so why the #myShakeApp gives me a "critical drop and cover" alert I have no idea

Related: I've seen all kinds of abuses of various public notice systems via cellular phone networks, so on my phone I've turned them all off.

Even after USGS's fiasco last year, I have their #MyShakeApp on my phone and got the alert today.

I did notice that other phones got today's test alert about a minute earlier and about a minute later.

THEY SAID THE EARTHQUAKE TEST WOULD BE AT 10 AM

Waking from a dead sleep at 3:30 am to an alert that includes a guy talking was NOT GREAT

@tabacco @SasquatcherGeneral I, like a lot of people, was confused this morning. I read on the #MyShakeApp that there would be a system test this week. I assumed it was the test and thought, there ain’t no way I’m jumping up off the toilet and diving under my bed for that!
