#MyNewYearsResolution . . .

Guess what? I'm only human . . . 🤷‍♂️

Back slid on the promise to myself to drink only 1 glass/wine/day this weekend & finished off a bottle of zin by drinking another glass yesterday.

Going back #OnTheWagon for the rest of the week including Sat to make up for yesterday.

Life goes on . . .

5th day in a row dry.

Can treat myself to a glass of wine today &/or tomorrow with dinner before going dry again next week. 😊

Another day down without drinking a drop of wine or bourbon. That's 2 days in a row.

Am just drinking water, tea, coffee & some hot chocolate instead

My short term goal is now to go without drinking 5 days in a row until the weekend when I'll gift myself with a glass of wine -- just 1 -- with dinner.

Apart from the obvious health benefits of cutting back, this effort should also result in a loss of weight, since cutting back should eliminate about 300-500 cals a day from my "diet."

I weighed 174.7# 2 days ago & weigh 173.5 today.

Lost 40# (weighed nearly 200#) when I entirely stopped drinking sodas daily (haven't had a soda for 10 yrs now) & stopped drinking beer daily from cans stocked in my frig) at the same time too (still drink beer but only when I occasionally go out for lunch every other wk or 2).

Weight went back up to 175 when I started drinking 2-3 & sometimes 4 glasses of wine daily. So, cutting back to just 1-2 glasses/ wk should result in weight loss too. ☺️

Patting myself on the back . . .

I didn't take a sip of wine or bourbon yesterday & I didn't go into withdrawal.☺️

#MyNewYearsResolution; I shall connect myself to arts and culture again, cos I need to breathe again.
