After last week's #MyGet outage, this video is timely! Surendra Sharma shows how to move to the new #Sitecore NuGet provider.

REMEMBER: even with MyGet back online, builders should transition to the new provider before Sitecore disables it on Nov 30.

It's been over 3 days and #MyGet has still not been able to restore package downloads, though they got some services back online. Through it all, the biggest complaint people have had is the lack of communication. People want to know what's happening, see progress, get an ETA. Silence led to mistrust.

A good lesson to remember for all #DevRel folks! We have to keep those comms open, build that trust.

With the current #MyGet outage, we migrated one of our repositories over to a different #NuGet feed. You can read about the steps involved in my post below...

Migrating the XM Cloud Introduction Repo to a new Nuget feed. - Rob Earlam

#MyGet has been down for over a day without a single acknowledgment on their status page (https://status.myget.org/). We use MyGet in several places at UiPath but I suspect we may quickly migrate to all Azure DevOps.

I get that you can have a service down for an extended period. But not communicating with customers is unprofessional.

MyGet Status

The #MyGet package server -used as a NuGet package provider for .NET projects like #Sitecore- is down for almost a day right now. It shows how dependant we are nowadays with SaaS products which are in the cloud "and never go down". They will one day and when it happens, you are in trouble.

Luckily Sitecore is providing an alternative service now but not every project will be this lucky.

is the #myget outage temp or permanent?
can you tell I didn't plan on registering a #myget account tonight
