**Bibi Besch, Peter Donat.** All the episodes before this were bad. This one is okay. It successfully keeps you guessing who did it for a half-hour or so. The ending is clever. Yes, it rips off a Columbo ending (my least favourite) but it does a good job with it. Henry Jones is given more to do. Josh even goes undercover with Kate. They are fun together. Show should have done this every week. As a detective, Kate isn’t impressive. She kinda blunders around. _Fall 1979: Aired by NBC on Thursdays after Quincy, ME. **Ted Danson, Dee Wallace, Deborah Shelton, John Aprea.** Hooker housewives!! (To drive the ratings up, I imagine.) One gets murdered. Kate doesn’t think hubby did it, goes undercover as hooker, hilarity ensues. (Not.) Not a terrible idea for a story, but this script–by Lawrence Hertzog–is bad. All the comedy falls flat, the cops are idiots, and the wild car chase at the end looks great but makes no sense. _Fall 1979: Aired by NBC on Thursdays after Quincy, ME. Was talking about how great an actor Kate Mulgrew is, and so we watched a clip of that underrated classic, Mrs. Columbo. Her French teacher looked eerily familiar, and we slowly realized it was a young Rene Auberjonois with facial hair.

I don’t think they ever got to do Star Trek together.
