1. My favourite song from my favourite film, EVER. The only song I have had lyrics from printed on t-shirts. Twice.

A bit of a cheat for my final #MohammadRafi tribute post tonight. I simply ADORE old school #Hindi #film #qawwali and this one is the ne plus ultra - all 12 minutes of it.
It is the single piece of music I have listened to the most after Beethoven's 9th, and so my favourite example of my favourite filmi #Music genre wraps this salute to Rafi up on the strength of his being one of the two lead male vocals.

For something COMPLETELY different, back to the 1957 #Hindi #Film #Pyaasa - the ANGRIEST song I've heard #MohammadRafi sing - doing full justice to the sublime Sahir Ludhianvi's polemic against hypocritical misogynist moralising in a song that was banned from radio play for decades in India.

My karma for REALLY not liking Dev Anand is having him feature in so many outstanding #MohammadRafi songs, including this one, an all time favourite from the very sweet 1963 #Hindi #Film #TereGharKeSaamne

5.
This #MohammadRafi song from the 1964 #Hindi #film #KashmirKiKali always makes me of Rafi himself - the title/refrain could be rendered
"How do I praise the one who made you?"
4.
A #MohammadRafi song from the 1963 #film #UstadonKeUstad with lyrics that fans of many #CDrama and #KDrama could relate to - the repeated refrain/chorus translates something like
"We may be born 100 times and destroyed 100 times, but my faithful beloved, we will never be separated."
3. From #Brahmachari the happy version of a song #MohammadRafi also sings a sad version of in the same #film with exactly the same lyrics, and makes it sound like a different song.

2. From the same film, a VERY different song, one I fell in love with before I ever saw the film.
