Several months ago, I had a dream, and in that dream, I saw a character that I told myself upon waking that I would sculpt one day. Behold, that day is today.
This is actually my second attempt at this character. The first attempt ended up not working out, partly because the clay was dried up and re-moistening it didn't work. Partly because I didn't get the right shade of teal I wanted.
Despite the fact she doesn't have a face, attempt 2 looks way better, in my opinion.
On top of mixing together clay to make teal, I also had to mix together red and a smidge of black clay in order to make her hair a more subdued shade of red. The default red is pretty loud by comparison, and I felt like it clashed with the teal.
If I put a content warning up on this, it's because I got paranoid. I think the hair covers all the right places, but maybe I could have done better. The alternative idea was to give her up bra, but no matter what color or style I tried to applyy, it just didn't look right. So hopefully, her long hair covering things works. All the same, I'm probably putting a content warning on this just a cover my ass.
This is honestly one of my favorite sculptures so far. I really like how it turned out.
