Today we celebrate the 13th anniversary of the demise of #Apple's #MobileMe service. Overpriced and unreliable, MobileMe was one of Apple's worst offerings. It was preceded by iTools and .Mac, both of which were reasonable, and succeeded by iCloud, which was also reasonable. But MobileMe? Garbahhge. Whereas the demise of #eWorld fills me with sadness, the demise of MobileMe delights me.

Long ago I created my first #Apple ID. Almost as long ago I set up #MobileMe which became a second #AppleID.

Today I discovered a result:
- duplicative charges for Apple One Premier and iCloud & Music, adding to hundreds over the years and hundreds more for another family member’s Apple Music.
- there's STILL no way to merge Apple accounts.
- I can't simply abandon one account, because one has my Apple Card and the other has all my app purchases.

I may be an #AppleFanboy but this is BROKEN.

Più che un successo, MobileMe è stato uno dei fallimenti più noti dell’azienda di #Cupertino. Il 27 settembre 2008, dopo un lungo periodo di malfunzionamenti e critiche, #SteveJobs affrontò uno dei momenti più delicati della sua leadership. Buon ascolto!
