Juggling With EggsListening to Radio 4 in the car yesterday evening talking about the anniversary of the #GoodFridayAgreement, I had to explain to my kids there was also a woman called #MoMowlam who was instrumental in getting the men to sit around the table…because she didn’t get a mention. And she was not alone in being a woman bringing men together to find common ground - there were many.
Former British PM Tony Blair, who’d omitted the work of his former minister Mo Mowlam in his 2018 speech marking #goodfridayagreement’s 20th anniversary, last week lauded her “liberating energy” in the peace process. “I chose Mo because I thought she was completely different…and she was, and also because she was a very clever politician,” he said.
