Michael McCarron: "I could have gotten more in free agency, but why would you look elsewhere when you're in a really good spot on a team in a window to win a Stanley Cup? And with people up top that believe in you?" #mnwild

Bill Guerin called Michael McCarron an "integral" part of the #mnwild team, a "perfect fit" and a priority this summer. Negotiations only took a couple weeks, McCarron prioritizing term. Fact McCarron skipped free agency says a lot. "He really wanted to stay here, he believes in what we're doing," Guerin said.

Michael McCarron, signed 6x$3.3M by MIN, is a big defence-first depth centre who wins faceoffs and hits. Extremely lacking in puck skills and pretty much provides offence solely by crashing the net. #MNWild

The Dylan Larkin + #mnwild connection in a potential trade makes all the sense in the world. It’d be a no-brainer, big swing for Bill Guerin.

But there’s one problem: does he have the trade chips to pull it off?

The Wild’s pursuit of Dylan Larkin faces one major obstacle: Trade capital

It makes all too much sense for the Wild to do whatever they can to make a trade. But it has to make sense for Wings GM Steve Yzerman, too.

Ask Russo and Smith, Part 2

Biggest nugget is the #mnwild are close to re-signing Michael McCarron long-term. Given security to get the AAV at a more manageable figure. My guess is it'll come in around in that $3.2 million/$3.3 million sweet spot

Helene reports that Dylan Larkin gave #LGRW three teams where he'd accept a trade and believes those teams are: #FlaPanthers, #mnwild and #VGK.
