2024 seems to like curtain calls. I did one day back at work on Friday and it’s back again on Monday and Tuesday. Someone fetch a shepherd’s crook to it.

I love the Merryneum. One the one hand, no idea what day it is; on the other hand, random drinks and snacks.
Tea? yes please! Mince pie? of course!
Fizzy wine? Go on then. Cheese? yes please!
Any two snacks together is a meal. Ham and pickles? That's lunch. Want a beer to wash that down?
Chicken vol-au-vent? Oh no thank you. Not only is this not the 1970s, see this scar on my lip? A childhood chicken vol-au-vent incident.

For the first time since moving to our current address the bin schedule has aligned so as to include a collection between Christmas and New Year. I put my bin out yesterday not quite sure if I should believe the online calendar and, in a move that has in hindsight made me write sad, audibly exclaimed 'They came!' when checking this morning, like fucking Bin Man Santa came.
