PeterWent to the "8 van Chaam" #criterium, these are common in the Netherlands right after the Tour de France. Riders that performed well in the Tour are invited (and payed well) to ride.
At the first criterium I visited years ago I noticed the women rode a lot faster than the men. For the men the result is set before they even start, for the women it's a race. So nowadays I go for the womens race and only watch the first few laps of the men.
