Working on linking our copy of the USHMM/ITS digitalized scans with Bad Arolsen. Thankfully, our files fontain the docIds of Arolsen, so it is relatively easy. Well, it takes a while, but I want to copy our references to our source datasets and the victims, so each victim can be matched to the sources in Bad Arolsen eventually. https://memorial-archives.international/ #memarc #its #ushmm
Memorial Archives can now connect with external sources like Wiki data or FactGrid. Both Flossenbürg and Auschwitz archives are quite interested in this feature to enhance online data interoperability. For now, it is still a bit experimental, but it is a start. Productive talks and problem solving with the great archive team of @auschwitzmuseum. I am also proud that my database #memarc was an important part of a project which was able to restore identities of victims deported to the concentration camp. #histodon
#Solr in #AuschwitzMuseum #Memarc instance decided to not save any documents any more today. Apparently, the index died somehow and does not recover. Why did it do this at the moment when my wife got Covid and I have to handle the kid? Planned: Night session to delete index and start from scratch.

Introduced #memarc in the #RememBarcamp 2023 in Dachau today. Surprised that the interest was so big. But it proves the point why we should exchange information. Thanks for your interest, people.
Replacing API gateway service for #memarc . Old #Kong has to go, replaced by #caddyserver . I really like it and I could write an extension in #go, much nicer. In Kong I had to fiddle with lua, a language I don't deal with each day.
Updated #memarc after three days of preparation... moved to new server infrastructure which turned out to be more complicated than anticipated. Reindexing is still running, but should finish by tomorrow
