This 15% utilization was brought up at #AIFD6 by #MemVerge and I was skeptical. My first guess was “we bought these GPUs but don’t actually have anything to run on them” but it’s really “we have no idea how to build parallel workloads”!

This data from weightsandbiases really makes me want to cry. 1/3 of enterprise GPU compute resources are utilized less than 15% of the time. Mostly because engineers just can't figure out how to efficiently run across many GPUs.#MemVerge brought this up during #AIFD6
