Had another lovely experience with the US healthcare system yesterday.

So, I am not happy with my primary care doc and am looking for another one. I went to the website of the MegaClinic in my area (don't believe there are any independent Docs left here.) Scrolled through the Docs available.

I am a bit prejudiced at this point, but I am looking for an older, female doctor. I think I have a better chance of finding someone who will actually listen and understand where I am at in life.

Found such a doc in the listings who has excellent (though ultimately meaningless) reviews. There was a "request appointment" button, so I did.

An hour later someone called me from the clinic and said that Doc wasn't taking new patients but they could set me up with some other generic Doc on their staff. They didn't actually SAY generic, but that is essentially what they meant. One Doc is as good as any other. Like bank tellers or fast food counter people. The person next in line can help you as well as any other, apparently. Weird for people who make half a million a year and more.

So much for the importance of "patient choice" the GOP goes on about when they try to kill Obamacare or Medicare.

It's starting to look like getting in person genetic counseling near me might be impossible because everything is for children.

I'll just go invent time travel so I can go invent genetic testing while I'm still a kid, I guess 🤷
