Why #McAnulty must lead Labour to reclaim Gvt in 2026:
1. Charisma
It matters in connecting with voters. Hipkins is a pleasant enough man... but he's more journeyman than leader.
2. Transformative Change.
Boldness - not incrementalism - is vital for more equitable wealth distribution, education/health equity, infrastructure investment. McAnulty is definitively more progressive than Hipkins.
3. Assertiveness
The case against the current gvt needs to be prosecuted with passion & vigour.

The Gore Show continues with mayor Ben Bell cancelling an interview with Stuff this morning then not turning up to work.

As Local Government Minister, Kieran McAnulty says he's monitoring the situation.

“But we are keeping an eye on it, obviously we want things to run smoothly, but at the moment the breakdown of relationship doesn't meet any criteria for us to consider intervention at this point.’’

Kieran McAnulty has been impressive under fire and always comes across as 100% genuine. He's the perfect person to lead in emergencies.

However Luke Malpass heaping praise on a Labour minister... I didn't see that coming.
