The advantage of holding out for proper Advent, in the face of people starting Christmas in September, is that in years like this year if done properly we'd all have 25 days instead of 24 in our Advent calendars.
26 days next year.
*And* we get almost a whole extra fortnight of #ChristmasTide.
Think of how much extra chocolate-covered #marzipan and #Matchmakers that is.
