I propose special creative projects to be held, themed to the six key points why Mastodon will fail:

1) Terrible name

2) There is no single Mastodon

3) Toots

4) Handles are meaningless

5) Where is everyone?

6) Apps feel like a science project

We can make art, make educational videos, make music, write essays, write poetry!

The possibilities are endless!

Maybe it can be an charity event to support instances!

Heute vor 8 Jahren erschien Lance Ulanoffs Artikel »Six Reasons Mastodon Won't Survive« bei Mashable. Sein stärkstes Argument: William Shatner konnte ihn auf der Plattform nicht finden.

Mastodon läuft noch. Mashable nicht mehr so wirklich.

Was Ulanoff damals wie viele andere nicht verstanden hat: Mastodon wollte nie Twitter sein. Kein Investor, kein Monetarisierungszwang, keine zentrale Kontrolle – das waren keine Schwächen, sondern gewollt.

Acht Jahre später schreibt er bei TechRadar Microsoft-Lobbyismus und KI-Hype. Konsistent immerhin. 😂
