After getting alerted tonight because #claudebot from Anthropic was scanning a host so aggressively that all 20 cores where saturated I generated a list of IPs (all/mostly AWS) they used for you to block them too.

The bot is used to fuel their AI model so nobody really needs that and after some research they also seem to ignore robots.txt. By by 👋 🤷‍♀️ #MastoOps

It was entirely a "manually delete old logs to save space" situation, except in this case it was... #MySQL binary logs. Interesting change of pace.

im having some mastodon issues because i dont understand rails like at all

its complaining that accounts dont have a default_sensitive? method.

the account model has a delegate for default_sensitive? that points to user
the user model has a delegate for default_sensitive that points to settings
settings just pulls shit from the db

from what i could piece together (mostly by looking through other models and seeing how their delegates were set up) shouldnt this work?

someone using docker to run their mastodon instance,

can you tell me if the command

docker bundle exec rails console

ran in the mastodon root folder is proper?
the masto docs have no mention of using docker for setup and i know nothing about it ​
