Mostly finished with this book & I’m still having trouble thinking of the MC as male. I read the first 2 pages thinking they were a woman (he *is* referred to as a witch), and then the “he” pronoun was used & I corrected myself. But then I double checked the author’s gender, and she’s a woman, and… all of the word choices, and ways of talking about things (esp the romance), they read like he’s female, just in a male re-skin. It’s… odd.

I just finished reading the re-release of When the Dust Settles (Timing Bk 3) by #MaryCalmes. It's a rewrite w/21K words added.
I always have cowboy/ranch books in rotation and this one was just excellent. (My GR link in pinned post.) Although it's standalone, it's more fulfilling to read the entire series. It's a great balance of a powerful romance with the ranch life, family, and friends. Really recommended!
