My feed for #MarvelsPullList and #ThisWeekInMarvel each have been dark since last year, but both just lit up with a podcast trailer. It was read by a male announcer voice I wasn't 100% sure wasn't an AI. It also clearly wasn't any other previous hosts I listened to for the last ten years.

@SpiritualTechie

Some of them started off as ads, too. #ThisWeekInMarvel was always walking about comics for the express purpose of getting you to go buy this week's comics. Since I already wanted to do that, I enjoyed getting the chance to listen to people talk about them.

Then Disney bought Marvel. Now, ThisWeekInMarvel was about Marvel stuff... Movies, too! Oh, and games, And other podcasts, and the new product tied into a fitness program and and and...

The spun the Comic talk off to a new podcast. (#MarvelsPullList) Then they cancelled that one. TWIM became even less like friends talking about the stuff I wanted to hear and more about pushing the latest thing they were trying that wasn't selling. It began to sound like an infomercial. I haven't gotten a new episode since last year (except one odd, special-release of an old interview) and I haven't gone looking for it.

It's kinda depressing for me, because when I started listening, they had a 'Talk back to us through a Twitter Hashtag!' back when that wasn't horrible. I created a Twitter account to do that, and from reading that hashtag I met some of my best friends, most of whom are part of #DrunkPete and #HorizonLabs, but few have moved to Mastodon.

I realized that I no longer have any comics podcasts. #ThisWeekInMarvel split their #MarvelsPullList off for comics, then killed it. Way back I enjoyed a podcast called The Pull Pile Podcast, but that ended years ago. @nerdbyword will delve into the comics occasionally, and Trip Around the Multiverse will deep dive into characters sometimes, but I miss the podcast that talked about what they read THIS WEEK each week. Though for the speed I read, I think I'd prefer discussing last week's issues each week.

Stephanie Williams is on #MarvelsPullList talking about her new character from Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1, but what I enjoyed was that Stephanie says she pulls Tarot for her characters. The nicest bit was Jasmiest responding by showing she knew Tarot enough to guess the card perfectly.

I think I need more of this. Not sure which part, maybe an extra podcast of Jasmiest and Stephanie talking about comics through a Tarot/astrological lens.

You can tell I am slow in reading my comics when I am not done with them yet by the time #MarvelsPullList drops. Ryan and Jasmine are coming in hot!

No, really, their mics are way hot, and are fraying constantly. This needs some tweaking at the recording side. The left side, actually. Please, for my ears.

Regardless, this week's award is:
"I am taking a break from poetry."

I could see this being said by a villain like Carnage who thinks murder and blood is 'poetry' but is incarcerated, so says this. Alternatively, someone talking to a typically peaceful, poet character who is about to instead whoop some 🍑 .

Star Lord is out to ruin some lives. #MarvelsPullList

#MarvelsPullList starts out with Agent M forgetting which show he was on and referring to it as TWIM.

Welcome back, Jasmine!

Jasmine, I have NFL SuperPro #1. I would have been happy to help you out with that one!

Award Name:
"Time to ruin some lives!"

Sounds like it's being said by a politician starting a new legislative session.

The #MarvelsPullList Award was hiding in here, too. Called it, it was Spider-Verse, even got that it would be Miles!

Also, the pun was even better than the award.

This week's #MarvelsPullList has AgentM flying solo.

The award name was:
"We Tokyo Drifted across dimensions"

My guess would be something like Miles Morales or Sabertooth or Spider-Verse characters who dimension hops, but I bet this is someone flippantly describing a weird event by saying they must be in another universe.

Yesterday, I listened to #MarvelsPullList on the road, so I wasn't here to post the award name, "Genetically Engineered Washboard Abs", but I remembered it when I read it from Doc Ock here in Deadpool #5.
