Welp, it is 6AM here in Perth, @leece and I have been up for nearly four hours, and #Eurovision2025 has seriously rocked.

A few surprises in the finalists, but pretty much everyone I wanted to get in got in. A couple I was hoping for did not, and one I considered "sweet but bland" did, so that was a thing.

Some fun things to look out for in the replays:
Poland's HR Geiger inspired outfit
Tommy Ca$h being made of rubber
The serious 90s rave of Belgium
The snake in Croatia's entry
Spain's costume held together by glue and hope - mostly hope
Iceland just rocking out without a care
San Marino going completely off-brand
Finland representing Sweden (as revenge for Käärijä losing to Sweden in 2023)

The Australian commentators were really good this year - a great followup to their predecessors, but giving their own very different vibe.

Looking forward to Semi-final 2 and #Manjimup lad Go-Jo. Milkshakes all round!

#Perup #Manjimup district should be made into a national park like #Dryandra, when the ban on #logging native hardwoods takes effect in 2024… with research facilities and tourist facilities which are good for the area and #transition away from logging, employs people and attracts people to our community? And it can only be good for our #numbats."

I didn't think I'd have anything for Thick Trunk Tuesday. But I present the Diamond Tree near Manjimup in Western Australia https://exploreparks.dbca.wa.gov.au/site/diamond-tree
These pics are from a couple of years back.
I do like that it has what I think is a very Australian warning "Your safety is our concern, but your responsibility".
There are several of these fire lookout trees dotted about the Great Southern forests.
