Democrats have no plan B.

"Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) also poured cold water on the speculation. 'I’ve heard no credible plan B, and I’m not counting on a plan B,' he said.

"The Democratic senator said Thursday’s debate between Biden and Trump 'will be a really critical point” in the campaign and would set the trajectory of the race'... 'I think Biden is so much sharper, quicker, knowledgeable than even Democrats give him credit for.'"

GOP spin doctor Frank Luntz on the next debate: “We all get a chance to see whether Joe Biden is as feeble as Trump says he is. We all get a chance to see whether Donald Trump is as unhinged as Joe Biden says he is.This is our chance to test the worst accusations of the candidates against each other.”

I can't believe any voter by now will watch the Biden/Trump debate expecting to finally be persuaded who to vote for following an intellectual exchange of ideas by two eloquent statesmen. It will be a contest to see if either one can avoid taking a mental nap mid-argument and go full Grandpa Simpson. "Back in my day, we walked uphill both ways to the White House!"

Back in 1984 I thought President Reagan, at the ripe old age of 73, was too old and out of touch to be running the country. Fast forward to 2016, I’m rooting for Bernie Sanders, and my Hillary-supporting friends protested, “Bernie’s too old! He’s 75! He probably remembers when fire was invented!”

So, at 73, Reagan was ancient. Bernie at 75 was prehistoric, but President Biden at 81 is somehow supposed to be our revered Jedi Master?

Meanwhile, 77 year old Donald Trump is showing many of the same signs of wear and tear as Joe Biden. If their upcoming debate is anything like their last match up, it will be the closest thing we have to a pay-per-view rap battle between two guys who should've retired years ago.
