Lucy has come a long way in the past couple months. She's developed this habit of getting on the bed shortly after I go to bed, then proceeds to make biscuits against my shoulder for about ten minutes. I've learned that it's important to her that I not interrupt the biscuits, even with petting. 😸
She still hisses at Josephine at least once a day, but they are SO close to intentionally playing together. They've accidentally done it a few times now and I love it.
Lucy is loving her outdoor time, though she still is getting used to being unable to pounce when her prey drive kicks in.
Also, the milkweed is showing off big time. Unfortunately it seems to bloom too early to be much benefit to Monarch butterflies, but some years one will find it. The bees LOVE it though.
My cat Lucy is kneading my leg and slowly biscuiting herself off of my lap, so it looks like I'll soon have no excuse to not do productive things. 😸
Two wonderful cat things this week. Lucy became comfy enough wearing a harness/leash that she's ready for her backyard adventure cat life, much to the birds' annoyance.
After 5 long months, we have reached the goal of all inside doors in the house open 24/7. Yay! She and Josephine still have boundary issues sometimes, but things are getting better.
For this #Caturday, we have Josephine still diligently helping the Big Bear eagles with their nesting. She's grateful for the livestreaming technology so she can check in daily. And one extreme tortie close-up of Lucy snuggling on my lap a little while ago. So many biscuits were made.
I'm glad Josephine has deemed climbing a generally undignified activity. 😂
Overall I think the scratching post was a good investment. Lucy sometimes takes advantage of the height advantage to swat from above but she mostly just uses it as an escape. And they both use it for scratching.
I've definitely noticed that they both get most hissy and stalky with each other when it's close to food time.
I love them, but these two are driving me a little bonkers with the not getting along. Hopefully Lucy will chill out a bit.
I bought a floor to ceiling cat tree so Lucy would have more vertical space to hang out in and so she could get away from Josephine without having to leave the room. It took a week, but she finally decided to claim the top hammock. Snapped this after her first snooze in it.
