I'm glad Josephine has deemed climbing a generally undignified activity. 😂

Overall I think the scratching post was a good investment. Lucy sometimes takes advantage of the height advantage to swat from above but she mostly just uses it as an escape. And they both use it for scratching.

I've definitely noticed that they both get most hissy and stalky with each other when it's close to food time.

@nevar23 Living in a household with 3 cats, I often question whether our purchase of a similar cat tree was sensible. Yes they all use it now and again, including for momentary escape from a hyperactive aggressor. But still . . . it sits there totally empty in our living room most of the time, and stands ugly as fuck all the time. A comfy, attractive Ikea rocking chair would've got just as much cat use and a whole lot more human use.

@mrowster Lol! It's so true! They aren't attractive at all. I admit I was desperate to prevent cat violence, though. 😆 Plus, more scratching on scratch posts means less impulse to scratch the furniture.
