I don't want to get into the production issues because I was partial to both Yamakan and Azuma Hiroki.

Yamakan (still) is an internet troll, but his thoughts on the industry resonated with me.

Azuma's book on Otaku introduced me to theory and literally turned my life around.

So I was excited about what they were putting out.

I wasn't a big fan of Okada Mami, but I was still rooting episode by episode for the script to turn out okay.

Yes, the show had production issues, but they were clearly overstated given the huge expectations we all had.
