Dad and I went to a Friends of UWA event tonight, celebrating the Lighting of the Sound (https://www.albany2026.com.au/events/lighting-the-sound). It was pretty cool to see it – normally I'd say in person it was better and why bring out a camera at all, but in fact you could see the red lights through the camera better than with the naked eye. I'm the first to admit it's not an ideal picture or ideal conditions (too much superfluous light from businesses and the street lights)

The first bonus of the night was that Dad paid for my ticket (he said it was a good investment since I was picking him up and taking him home) but the extra bonus was bumping into a friend and having a lovely chat and catch up. We're going to meet up for coffee after Easter.

Now I'm planning a very quiet weekend, kid stuff notwithstanding. A small sleep in tomorrow and lots of reading. It might rain. We can only hope...
