Suddenly — a piercing screech shatters the calm.

Startled, the young Labrador rockets into the air, releases a midair fart, lands, glares at the human, and departs with wounded pride.

... Urubamba and the sacred valley are surrounded by steep mountains. Some peaks were still covered with snow. Thanks to the rainy season, the valley and mountain slopes grew greener and greener while we stood there. Directly behind our bungalow, a ~20-minute hike led to the Inca ruins 'Queroqancha'. Together with the two lovely dogs of our host, we often walked up to enjoy the amazing view over the valley and Urubamba...

Every morning it’s the same thing, the excitement for that first hug with tummy rubs to boot, and the palpable relief that somehow the hooman made it through the night. The latter thought is the more insidious. #LifeWithDogs

Veterinary service is horrible in Sweden, like literally horrible. Prices are through the roof, most service is mediocre at most and the worst thing is their approach to the emergencies. Like 'oh, we are fully booked, good luck'.
If someone was to open a humane care they would probably quite fast become the richest people in the country with facilities full 24/7.
