Probably the least mature soundtrack of Kohei Tanaka, the dude who would work on the music for Dragonball, One Piece, Jojo and Assassination Classroom, as well as the Sakura Wars games.
The thing about #PaladinsQuest, otherwise known as #Lennus, is that it was grindy and not such a great game. It was made during the #SNES infancy (1992) and it shows.
But the peculiar art and the disconcerting soundtrack had a certain ambiance to it. It feels like an alien fever dream.
It also had some cool ideas: battle menuing purely with directional input which would later be seen in #SuperMarioRPG, spells cast with HP and no healing spells, only a heal flask with limited uses that can only be refilled in certain places like #DarkSouls, a magic system where spirits combined with every other spirit to create new magic: 1 spirit means 1 spell, 2 spirits means 3 spells, 3 spirits means 6 spells, 4 spirits means 10 spells, 5 spirits means 15 spells, and so on up to 37.
