Die Art und Weise, wie ich Musik erlebe, hat sich ziemlich geändert, seit ich kein #Spotify mehr nutze.

Für die Hintergrundbeschallung hör ich jetzt Radio und bekomme so auch wieder mehr vom Weltgeschehen mit. Und das bisschen Musik, das ich jetzt offline dabei hab, höre ich dafür umso bewusster und aktiver, Album für Album. So kann ich auch Neues entdecken, ohne dass mir Spotify gleich den nächsten Titel aus der Playlist hinterher spült.

I recently ended our family subscription to Spotify and deleted the app. It was costing over 21 Euros a month, which I thought was a lot given its troubles with paying artists and it embracing AI slop songs!

This video by musician Mary Spender was a thoughtful post about Spotify and how our relationship with music has changed with streaming services.

For me, there is a joy to listening to an entire album, not cherry picking and listening to the same thing again and again...

The money saved will be spent buying music direct from the artists where possible...
