New book alert! I was in Brussels this Tuesday for the launch of "The pandemic, socioeconomic disadvantage and learning outcomes: Cross-national impact analyses of #education policy reforms", edited by Sylke Schnepf et al.

This article explains how a school could have a 90% attendance but a 30% absenteeism rate. This article mentions a pet peeve of mine. Learning loss. Learning loss data only comes from state assessment data. Students learned different things during the pandemic. ⚪ 77% said their lives had changed moderately or extremely due to the pandemic.

⚪ 36% said they failed a class or their grades dropped.

⚪ 17% said they took over teaching young relatives or children.
