Does anyone here use #Lavabit email? It's (fortunately!) not my primary provider, but over the last day or two I've started getting prompted to enter my password and tells me it's incorrect when I do.

Their website has been useless for at least a year now I think - it's just been saying "We are not accepting new users at this time. Mail services remain online, while we work on improving our website code."

This means I can't get into my account to check the status, pay for renewing it, anything really.

Just wondering if anyone else has issues with this?

Well, the FBI has miserably failed at PDF, among 100000 other things. Does that surprise me? Nope! However, by 2025 you'd think they could get it straight!! I had the same problems 12 years ago, while dealing with #Lavabit.
@CeySaysBooks I totally agree! I have my own domain so it's less work for others to have to update. And, I just paid the yearly subscription so I'm not getting my money back anyways. I just wish there were other E2EE email providers. Maybe #lavabit? how do we feel about them?
@meliimming Yesterday I realized that Qobuz, a high-res music service for "demanding listeners", was throwing an "unknown error" for my Lavabit email address. It joins a very select club composed of PayPal, the French postal service, and… the governmental service we use to retrieve our final exams grades.

ProtonMail didn't help, but they were less cavalier about it.

10 years ago today, I learned what appellate waiver was. I woke up that morning to find out the case I had been following for 8 months was lost. Needless to say, it kind of felt like 1995 all over again, but that was my first one, and I was only 12 back then. Reading the 41 page ruling is never fun, but it still exists, for anyone who wants to go do so. https://www.ca4.uscourts.gov/Opinions/Published/134625.P.pdf #Lavabit
