We are looking to take on a new volunteer moderator. If you are a local user who uses Labyrinth Zone as your main instance and you are interested in this position please send a direct message in reply to this post with a little bit of information about why you think you would be a good pick. If you have previous experience with moderation that would be nice, but it's not a hard limit.
We are looking for somebody who will help us deal with incoming reports, help us untangle what they are about if they are vague, message users who need to be contacted with administrative actions, discuss with us and help us develop appropriate responses to reports.
We don't get that many incoming reports generally unless there's some dumb stuff going on, and a lot of the reports we do get are from local users reporting remote users such as spam accounts and obvious turbo-racists and things like that, which are easy to resolve.

This position is not open to minors, due to the sensitive nature of some moderation reports.

After a discussion and united decision between the mods, Labyrinth Zone will be defederating from woem.men in 7 days.

Labyrinth Zone is an instance that values maintaining a safe community space for minors and adults to interact. Therefore, we cannot continue federating with an instance which has repeatedly shown indifference and fostered harm towards its minor users.

We are aware that there are many friends between our servers and that this will be difficult for those relationships. This decision was not made without deep consideration for the effects on these relationships. However, the safety of our users, especially minors, are our number one priority and will be protected.

If you are a user on woem.men and would like to federate with labyrinth.zone, there are 7 days before defederation to move to a different instance.

As of today (27/05/2024) the following additional rules are in effect:

  • MINORS are welcome here, provided they are 13+ years old. An account operated by a minor MUST NOT interact with or post adult content, and MUST ensure that accounts and posts that they interact with are not adult-oriented.

  • Adult-oriented and “MINORS DO NOT INTERACT” or “MDNI” accounts MUST NOT interact with accounts operated by minors, and MUST vet accounts that they interact with to ensure they are not interacting with minors.

  • If your account is subject to either of the above provisions you MUST clearly indicate as such on your profile.

The fediverse doesn’t have any facility in place to mark and automatically filter out accounts or instances that are adult-oriented, so these provisions are put in place to safeguard against inappropriate interactions.

Additionally, when registering an account, new applicants must fill also out the separate account application form.
