As you know, I'm not a fan of #birds. This (c)rook was not interested in that at all. We met on the beach, where it was sitting on the handrail of the steps leading down the dyke. I photographed it, which it seemed to see as an invitation. It followed me to my car and sat on the roof. When I opened the car door, it sat on the top edge of the door (photo 3). Then it flew onto my shoulder. And yes, that was the moment when I lost my nerve and screamed out loud. It sat back down on the roof of the car and stayed there even when I drove off. It surfed for a while, then flew next to me for a short distance. In the end it landed on a bollard and I got away - with my heart pounding in my chest. To me this encounter felt like an #AlfredHitchcock movie 😬 #rook
